Happy, Healthy and Wealthy 2018


Lascelles (Larry) Wong was born on November 22, 1929, in Swift River, Portland to Willie and Florence (Mama Tye) Wong Con Pow. He was the eight of nine children (Stanley, Sister, Lloyd, Olive, Lurline, Nellie, Joyce, Larry, and Carlton). He also grew up very closely with nephew, Alvin, whose mother "Sister Lue" Willie's daughter from a previous marriage, came from China to Jamaica with Willie. 

Larry attended Bloomfield Elementary in Swift River before the family moved to Kingston in 1944 where he attended Kingston College and achieved his Senior Cambridge. He graduated from high school at age 17., worked at Leonard deCordova and later Grace Kennedy where he was a successful salesman traveling the entire island. In 1948 he met the love of his live Irene Chang. They married on February 19th, 1950 and were together for over 67 years until his passing.

He leaves behind 6 children (Patrick, Michael, Patrick, Michael, Judith, Marcia, and Bridget.

Brigitte Chin Loy

In our previous newsletter, we had requests for prayers for Brigitte's recovery, but unfortunately, she did not make it.

A memorial service will be held on January 13th, 2018 at St.Benedict's Episcopal Church in Plantation at 2.00 PM.  

Egerton Chang

Egerton Chang

On January 2, 2018, Egerton Chang passed away. The viewing will be held at St.Peter & Paul on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 12.00pm to 1.00pm. There will be a light repass at the church after the service followed by the burial at Dovecot. 

Margaret Chang said “On behalf of myself and the family, we would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. We truly appreciate it during this very difficult time,”
